Our niece and nephew, Elyse and James, are in for a visit while their dad– Jim’s brother– is off to a wedding and their mom is visiting friends. James is goin’ on 2 and Elyse is nearly 4. They got up Reeeaaaal early this morning and were helping in the garden.

Emma and I caught a few more pretty flowers with the camera. You can see our sweet pea blooms! I have just a handful of peas in a pod. Now if I can keep the kids from picking them too early…

June blooms 1.

I bet they’re having lots of fun. I’m constantly reminding my girls to wait until things are ready to pick. The peas are always hard for them to wait for though.

The weather has been perfect! So glad we’ve been spared hot hot days so far. The kids are loving it and garden plants have had it easy this year so far. But I have to say they haven’t grown as vigorously since I switched to organic soil prep (no miracle grow so far) and heirmloom seeds. I’ll have to figure out how to help them out without breaking too many rules for organic… or maybe plant food is no sin?

oooooo—-Elyse and James—–you were up early! All that and a garden too? What a woman! Your pictures are beautiful. The bees are working my lavendar like crazy and it is beginning to smell soooo good. Wait til you see what this Mr. Idea man came up with as an alternative place for bird feeders until the house is painted.

You are right!!!! They hang a little low so I’m trying to get him to drill the holes a little higher.
